All ready

We are all checked in [done on-line] and weve printed out the boarding passes, how civilised is that! All this from the comfort of our own home. Early start in the morning, down to Heathrow and then off to New Delhi with British Airways.It sounds posh but the flights were a cheap offer, we flew with them last year, plenty of leg room and they do a good gin and tonic. Tally ho then --off to buy some motorbikes.

Exciting or what!

Our youngest son Joe , has returned from Ireland where he has been living for the last 4 years. And he is now at home with us ,in Norfolk. We had a mad welcome home bash last night which has left us a bit frazzled. But generally we are totally buzzed up by the forthcoming trip.
Its crazy, its not like we"ve never been to India before [20 or so visits?] but this trip is pressing all the right buttons and we are riding the wave with HUGE grins.
All of us have embraced new age technology and we have mp3 players, dvd cam corders, digital cameras, phones with cameras and wap stuff[ I ,dont understand that i will just ride the bike!] we even have walkie - talkies!! Learning how to use this gear is great fun and just adds to the excitement. Between us we have about700 ALBUMS ON MP3 so we should keep sane[?]
Perhaps we can rig up some sort of P.A. system so we can really blast it down the highway[he, he.]

The idea of this is to share our adventure with everyone, Its a grand idea and we"re looking forward to doing it and recieving feedback from friends and anyone else whos interested.
O.K. heres the plan -- Fly out to New Delhi with our son Joe, purchase a pair of Royal Enfield motorcycles [dont know if they will be new or pre-loved yet] and travel south to Goa, the paradise beach resort. Helen and myself have 22000km of riding experience in India already, Joe has done maybe 2000km.
Royal Enfields are the only bike good enough in India to take the load and being Indian made, have the advantage of having spares everywhere with mechanics to fit them.
We"ve joined the bike club Bulletwallas who have an Hotel and clubhouse in Delhi[ as well as other locations] so this will be our starting point. These guys may be in a position to supply us wih the bikeswww.bulletwallas.com is a great site for anyone interested in travelling India on an Enfield

Ive tried many sites today, trying to find somewhere where I can publish thoughts and accompany them with photos- lets try this one and see.
